Ashwagandha is a woody shrub and has a distinctive aroma. It is typically found in warmer climates in India and Middle East. In Sanskrit, ashwagandha means “smell of the horse” due to its distinctive smell.

Studies have shown that it boosts mood, it helps in reducing the cortisol levels i.e. stress hormone in persons suffering from chronic stress. One of the study published in the journal Phytomedicine, suggested that ashwagandha can be as effective as the drug lorazepam which is an anxiety reducing drug.
One can incorporate Ashwagandha into their diet by sprinkling the powder form into cocoa, oatmeal, or even dessert. One can have a teaspoon of ashwagandha powder with a glass of water, which could have mood boosting benefits as well as cod manage thyroid disorders by balancing thyroid hormome.
