Loss of appetite could be a serious health issue and should be paid attention to immediately.  There are various reasons for the loss of appetite. Here are few home remedies that could stimulate hunger.

 

Ginger

Ginger is known for alleviating stomach aches and indigestion.  It can have an effect on your appetite, and does not suppress it. Instead ginger can alleviate symptoms of nausea and those suffering from nausea to feel well enough to eat.  You can include ginger in your diet in a number of ways, eat it raw or add it to curries it or recipes.

 

Grapes

This fruit also stimulate hunger due to the presence of some mild acidic and sour juices that help in the digestion process.  Eating grapes between meals can enhance your appetite.

 

Indian Gooseberry

Amla or Indian Gooseberry is rich in Vitamin C and other nutrients. It enhances the functioning of the digestive system and also detoxifies the liver. Gooseberry with honey can alleviate nausea and vomiting as well.

This fruit can increase a diminished appetite caused by various gastrointestinal issues. It also facilities mineral absorption and prevent nutritional deficiencies.

 

Cinnamon

Cinnamon spice stimulates hunger. It contains a substance called as hydroxychalcone that increases the activity of insulin and maintains blood glucose levels at optimum state. It also prevents conditions like nausea and vomiting, both of which are associated with loss of appetite.

 

Citrus Fruits

Citrus fruits like lemons, oranges etc. could be effective in bringing back the lost appetite. They can be consumed along with a bit of pepper as well as ginger powder.
