Tamarind is known for its high iron content. Iron promotes production of red blood cells in our body and regulates healthy supply of oxygen to all parts and organs of our body. Fiber content of tamarind helps in reducing the levels of bad cholesterol (LDL cholesterol) from the veins and arteries. Tamarind has shown to be effective in reducing blood pressure and blood cholesterol.
