Top 10 remedies for Pearly White Teeth

There are some foods, drinks and even mouthwashes that can stain your teeth and make them lose their shine. Teeth discoloration is a part of aging process but by adopting few things, you can avoid stain and discoloration. There are home remedies that can help whiten your teeth by removing discoloration and yes they are easy and do-it-yourself remedies. Here are top 10 remedies for pearly whites:

 

Teeth Whitening Remedies

 

1. Apples

There are many health benefits of Apples. It contains malic acid (used in teeth whitening products) that removes surface stains and also removes food particles and bacteria, keeping the teeth whiter.

2. Oil Pulling

Oil Pulling is an Indian remedy that promotes oral health. Take one tablespoon of pure organic oil (like coconut oil) and swish it around your mouth for 15-20 minutes and after rinsing spit out the oil and the rinse your mouth with water.

3. Apple Cider Vinegar

It works both as a mouth gum cleaner and removes stubborn stains on the teeth especially from coffee and nicotine. To get good result, use this remedy for at least a month. After brushing with the apple cider vinegar, make sure to brush again with regular toothpaste preferable a non-fluoride toothpaste.

4. Strawberries

Strawberries can help whiten teeth by removing surface stains and washing away plaque. It contains malic acid that is found in most of the toothpastes and also Vitamin C. You could just eat strawberries to get bright teeth.

5. Baking Soda and Lemon

Both of these ingredients have smile- brightening effect and together they are super effective. Brush only once a week with this solution as baking soda can be quite abrasive for your gums and enamel.
Directions:
Mix 2-3 teaspoons of baking soda with enough fresh lemon juice (or water) to make a paste. Wipe your teeth and any extra saliva off of them with a paper towel. Put a good amount of paste onto your toothbrush and apply. Leave the paste on for 1 minute, then rinse, so as to avoid the acid effecting enamel. If you are using just water you can leave it on for up to 3 minutes.

6. Turmeric

Besides, reducing gum inflammation, turmeric is also effective for teeth whitening. Try it and you will see result for yourself.
Directions:
Wet your toothbrush and dip it in a teaspoon of turmeric powder. Brush teeth as normal, but before rinsing; allow the turmeric to sit on your teeth for 5 minutes. Spit and rinse thoroughly then follow your regular brushing with toothpaste.

7. Lemon, banana or Orange Peels

They whiten your teeth and are also good for oral health. Rub your teeth with the inside of a banana or orange peel as the peel is rich in magnesium, manganese and potassium which improve the enamel.

8. Salt

Salt is a basic dental cleansing agent. It helps revive the white color of teeth and also replenish lost mineral content in the teeth. You can use common salt regularly as a tooth powder instead of toothpaste.

9. Basil ( Tulsi)

There are several health benefits of Tulsi. It not only whiten your teeth , but also provide relief from gum problems like bleeding gums. Just crush Tulsi leaves and make a paste. Use it for regular brushing.

10. Neem( Margosa)

Neem twigs can be used in the form of toothbrush. Chewing the twigs can remove yellow stains and also prevent teeth problems. It also promotes healthy teeth and can be used as an antiseptic and astringent for curing dental cavities and bad breath.
