Applying Scented Aloe Vera

Wearing Tight Clothes

Wearing tight clothes over sunburn skin can cause inflammation and irritation of the skin. You need to let your skin breathe, after getting sunburn. Our body responds to sunburn by increasing the blood flow to the area to help healing, which could result in redness and warmth.

 

Covering your Sunburn Skin with Makeup

Avoid covering your sunburn skin with makeup. Makeup prevents the healing of your skin as the only way the burn will heal if you let your skin breathe.

 

Exfoliating

Exfoliating the sunburn skin can extremely damage your skin, especially when it is in a vulnerable sunburnt state. Once your skin stopped peeling naturally, wait for few days before using any skin products.

 

Scratching the irritated skin

Scratching and peeling off the skin can do more harm than heal. When your sunburn skin starts to peel off naturally, it indicates that healing process has started. Moisturize the skin and let the skin exfoliate naturally.

 

Forgetting to hydrate

Make sure you drink plenty of water or juice to prevent dehydration. Sunburn, in fact all burns draw fluid towards the skin and away from the rest of your body. Sunburn also tends to cause pain.

 

Popping your  Blisters

Do not pop blisters on a sunburn skin. That extra bubble of skin serves an important purpose of protecting your wound from sunburn. Apply unscented aloe vera cream.

 

Using Alcohol Based Creams

If you are using a cream to your sunburn, make sure it is not alcohol based. Alcohol based creams strip away the natural oils in your skin and decrease skin’s ability to heal itself.
